Texas Hold'em Analyzer -- by Bob Perez
Copyright 1984 by Justus Software
Texas Hold'em Analyzer is a simulation of the world's fastest growing poker
game. Hold'em is the game played in the annual World Series of Poker and is the
game of choice in many home and cardroom games around the country. With this
program you can set up many scenarios and deal out thousands of simulated
hands, keeping a constant record of how the hands went, which hand won, whether
it was ace-high, etc. You can configure the game to include such realistic
features as blind bets, 0 to 2 jokers, and can position yourself in any seat
at a table of up to 10 players. You can even pick a starting hand and see
how it does over the long run. The program lists both to the screen and to
either an Epson or Diablo printer all your results, including statistics on
the frequency of each possible hand's winning (i.e., straights won 22% hands).
There is even an option to play the popular new variation, Omaha.
From the configuration menu, you can choose Play or Analysis modes. Play will
simply start dealing you hands and won't keep track of anything. This will
give you a quick feeling for how the game is dealt. Note that you will have
to manually select which hand won--the program doesn't figure this out for you.
I'm working on adding this feature in the future. Analysis mode takes you to
another menu where you can choose to have cards dealt out at random to you and
keep track of the results (option 1 from the menu) or set up a starting hand
and keep track of how it does (option 2). The rest is fairly self-explanatory.
Note that when you are keeping track of hands you will be prompted to choose
the hand that won. If the hand that won was ace-high (ace-high flush, etc), you
can optionally keep track of this fact by holding down the Alt key while you
hit the key corresponding to the winning hand. The list option will show you
statistics on ace-high hands.
The program will save your analysis files and load previous sessions, so you
can play 50 hands at once, come back for another 200, etc., up to 65,000 or so.
